Spring Break!!

What a great two weeks. We could not have asked for better weather!! It was so nice to see 75-80 degree weather in March!! It was fun to walk into a mall and other stores and see a variety of things we don’t get to see on a daily bases!! And the prices, Wow what a difference!!

It was fun to be able to take the boys outside and go to the park everyday. They got to ride bikes, blow bubbles, and even swim in a kiddie pool. It was nice to take walks and not wear a jacket. Liam got to help grandma and grandpa with their compost pile and watering the garden. He loved being outside. The day after we got home Liam open the blinds and said “oh no snow cold.” I agree. He wants to be outside so bad. He wants to play at the parks, but ours are still covered in snow and getting sloshy.

Liam actually ate oranges and grapes.  I can’t blame the kid; up here they are not as sweet. But it was nice to eat fruit and fresh fruit at that. My poor son will not know what it is like to live in the real world. We were at a park, and all of a sudden Liam was screaming and backing up. Callan and I ran to him, and he pointed to a spider swinging from his web. My poor son hasn’t seen that before. He wouldn’t go back and play that day.

We took Ian and Liam to the Dallas Zoo. It was fun for both boys to get out. Liam new a lot of the animal sounds and had fun looking at them. He did not like the snake house. He was a little scared. I don’t blame him. Callan and I were taking a walk one evening and I almost stepped on a little Black Racer. I almost had a heart attack. For those few seconds I missed Alaska, but I got over it.

Callan and I got to go to the temple. It was so nice to be there with my husband. I am glad we got a chance before he left. It helped me remember it is forever. I can handle this!!

Ian and Liam got to hang out and it was nice to see the two brothers playing and enjoying each other. I was so excited to get our family pictures taken. I cannot wait to hang it on our wall. We actually look nice in them. We got them done at CLIX studios and I have all good things to say. They did a great job and I feel I paid a reasonable price too.

It was so nice to go on vacation. Our flight back was kind of crazy. Liam had a panic attack and went wild. It was scary as a mom not to be able to calm him down or take him outside. It did not help that the sun was so hot and hitting our window and we couldn’t touch it. We were getting hot and tired. However we made it back to Fairbanks and it snowed 1 hour later. Welcome Home!!!

I am grateful for friends that helped us out and made it possible for going on our wonderful trip. Thanks for watching our doggie and driving us to and from the airport. Thanks Janye and Lisa. I hope we are still friends after that!!

Next time Callan said we need to plan a weekend get away just the two of us. I agree!!
