When The Men Are Away The Women...

Cute Story of Liam for the week:
We got free army dolls at a meeting and you are suppose to stick a picture in it so your kid can remember their dad. Liam loves it. I put Callan's picture in it and he carries it around saying DADA. He shows his dad everything he does and then sleeps with it at night. He even gives it kisses.
Okay Another cute story of Liam:
We were getting ready for church this morning and Liam went into the bathroom and pulled his dad's cologne out of the cupboard and took the lid off. He wanted me to spray it on him for church. He is a cutie. OH and he smelled GOOOOOOOD!!!
During this month while my husband has been gone, I had to keep myself busy. So I read a couple of books, caught up on Liam's baby book, cleaned out cupboards and underneath the stove and fridge, and I made some projects. And living in Alaska I got to shovel myself out of a snowstorm. It was fun.
It was very exciting to clean out the closets. They are all organized and I know where everything is. I even made sure I have my OWN craft closet. The little things bring us joy in life, I know.  Cleaning underthings was the best idea. Liam thought he was on a treasure hunt. It was the best activity ever. We cleaned under and inside the couches and found 10 pens, 4 cars, old crackers, blues clues stickers, and a penny. Under the stove we found a Reese's peanut butter cup, five peanut m&m's(that disappeared very quickly,) 2 cars, and a cheetoh. Under the fridge: ABC magnets, 1 car, and something I can't explain. Liam was so excited to get so many new cars that day.
Last Monday We got over 2 feet of snow and wind up to 35mph. With my husband being gone, I had to shovel the walks. However when I looked outside I couldn't open my front door. We were snowed in. I had to shovel the snow away from the door and I had to shovel my car out. We don't have a garage. Man I got my leg, arm, and back work out that day. Some of you are probably saying big deal. HELLO I am  a California Girl.  don't do snow!!!!!

I have been working on projects and it has been a lot of fun. I made a stuffed elephant for Liam.We all know how much he likes those. It was my first official pattern I have followed. It turned out  so cute. I think I will have to make another one to keep it company. I made Liam a tied fleece cars blanket it turned out cute. But the one I am most proud of is, I made my husband a Manchester United blanket. It turned out so awesome. I think he will love it. It turned out better than I thought. I have to thank my friend and mentor Shannon for helping me with my projects. I am very excited to continue to make so many new things.Things on my list to make: tee pee, blankets, Liam's bedding, rocking chair pillows, curtains, aprons, dresses, crocheted blankets, and whatever looks neat.  I am so excited that I kept myself busy!!

So If you have something cute I can make please let me know. Or if you have read a good book please let me know!!

Viewers Discretion is Advised!!

This week was a lot of fun. I hope you can hear the sarcasm in my voice. Wednesday was a beautiful warm January day in Fairbanks. It reached a positive 27( I know you are all laughing right now, but today was -41). So we decided to go outside. Liam fell and hit the dog igloo in the back yard. He cut his eye and was bleeding everywhere. I rushed him to the ER, trying to be a non-panicky mom. I waited in the ER while my son was bleeding from his head, but playing and jumping like nothing was wrong. The Doctor came in and said he needed stitches. So they stuck Liam's arms in a pillow case, one guy held his body down the other held his head. The doctor stitched up his eye while he was screaming, spitting, and blowing snot on them. He then had to cry out MAMA MAMA MAMA. I never felt so bad in my  life.
Liam did really well with his stitches. He didn't even notice them half the time. He did finally get a little black and blue eyelid, but nothing serious. He started puling on them the last day, but everything was OK. He is a good sport.
I know, you think my week is over, but after church on Sunday, I had to take Liam back to the ER to get his stitches out. He still remembered the place. He was screaming. I felt bad for the other mom on the other side of the curtain, whose son just cut his eye open and was waiting for stitches. She got to listen to mine scream while she waited. This time they made me hold Liam's body down while a nurse held his head, and the other nurse took the stitches out. Again my son screamed and yelled MAMA  MAMA  MAMA!!
The good thing about this week is my son said MAMA!! It wasn't DADA it was MAMA!! Let's not get a head of ourselves though.  Every time we walk into the house, he would go looking for his DADA. On Saturday about 11:30 am (probably about the time Callan would get out of bed), Liam went looking for his Dada. He checked in his room, he looked in the bed, under the bed, in the dresser, and in both closets while he said Dada dada. Then he got really excited and checked the bathtub. He pulled open the curtains and yelled DADA !! But no luck, so he decided to take off his own clothes and take a bath by himself. He loves his DADA!!

We had a different week this week. Callan was getting ready to go to NTC. He left Sunday, it is sad.
A January Alaskan sunrise at 9:00 am
Yesterday was the super-bowl my husband wasn't here so we did not watch it. However I did find Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. That was a riot. They put puppies on a fake field and a toy and watch them play a. I don't know how the points work, but it was cute!!
This is a story about Liam and what he did last week. He seemed to have a lot of fun! We love Value Village! it is a second hand store. We found Liam some car shoes, a car t-shirt, and cars and we payed $5.00 for all. It is the best for a little boy who likes cars.
I found Liam one day upstairs reading a book about trucks.

Liam loves his Olivia. I think we better go to the eye doctor to see if he is blind.
